Easter Fun!

We had a lot of fun with Amy this Easter. Even though she's still young, she is definitely old enough to find the little pleasure in coloring Easter eggs and hunting for candy!
We spent the night before Easter coloring eggs at home.Amy thought it was a lot of fun coloring on the eggs with a crayon and then making them "dive" into the eggs. Needless to say, it took a little more time to clean it up this year than in past years. We started off using the dippers, but Amy soon realized it was easier to take the eggs out with her fingers. She also realized that she can go through a dozen eggs rather quickly, so then she started to redunk the already dyed eggs.
Easter morning started off with a short discussion of why we actually celebrate Easter. We knew Amy would shortly be distracted by the candy hidden all over the front room and the fun of going to Grandma's house and playing, so we took a minute to teach her that "Jesus got owies" (this is her caption for the crucifixion picture), but then "Heavenly Father made it all better" (resurrection picture).
Then the sugar-high began! She first found her Easter basket with her little memory game, princess bucket, and of course an Easter bunny! She still carries that thing everywhere!
We hid candy and Easter eggs all over the front room, and she had a blast finding them. Last year she was quite content to hold one, but now she realized that she could fill her basket and keep getting more! Woo hoo! It was hilarious though because she had to shake every single egg she found to make sure there was really something in it. Then it was on to Grandma's house. We decided to go to my parent's ward since we have such a late block time. That way we could be over there for Easter lunch. Amy wore her beautiful new pink Easter dress that Grandma Lewis got her. She also got another private Easter egg hunt. One of these years she's going to have siblings and cousins around to fight her for them, but for now she enjoys being the center of attention.

We had a wonderful dinner with my parents, Summer, Jessica, Lisa & TJ, and Grandpa and Grandma Knight. The food was delicous (as always) and we all ate more than we should have!
